Roy W. Langolf, a 1977 graduate of Marysville High School, received his Mortuary Science degree from Wayne State University and became a licensed Funeral Director in 1981.  Roy has been involved with funeral service since 1978 spending the last 38 years in Oakland County.  Having purchased the former Sherman-Wilk Funeral along with Heather Coats in 2008, he completed the acquisition in 2016 on his own and renamed the funeral home, Village Funeral Home.   His career has led him to be involved in the Michigan Funeral Directors Association in several capacities both locally and state wide as President of District 6 and currently serves on the Executive Board for the association as President.  He is a member of the Ortonville Lions Club having served on the board of directors in a number of different capacities.  He and his wife Lisa reside in Ortonville and have a combined family of one daughter, three sons and their families.

Michael T. McGillen Funeral Director

 

Michael T. McGillen, a 1972 graduate of Grosse Pointe South High School, received his Mortuary Science degree from Wayne State University, and became a licensed Funeral Director in 1976.  Following a 39 year funeral service career in Macomb County, he retired in 2015 as a funeral home manager. Since that time he has been proud to be affiliated with the Village Funeral Home, in a semi-retired capacity.  Throughout his career, he was a member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, serving as President of District Six.  He was an active member of the St. Angela Church, serving on many boards and committees, and several charitable organizations throughout the county.  He and his wife, Patti, are the parents of two sons, and have three grandsons.  They reside in Chesterfield Township, and are members of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church in New Baltimore.

Michele Baxter Administrative Assistant

Michele R. Baxter joined the Village Funeral Home staff after a 40 year career at Willow Pointe Flowers and Gifts as Manager and Wedding Consultant. Michele is a 1977 graduate of Brandon High School. She was a resident of Ortonville most of her life, until she and her husband, Hank, moved to Goodrich in 1992 to raise their two sons, Blake and Tyler. She hopes to continue to impact the community and our families with care and assistance.
